The Wellness Den

Wellness is the active pursuit of optimal well-being. It is the act of practicing healthy habits on a daily basis to attain better academic, physical, social and mental health outcomes. Instead of just surviving, you’re thriving! The Wellness Den is dedicated to fostering a balanced and holistic approach to health and wellness. We provide a range of programs and services that are responsive to the unique wellness needs of each student. There are many different dimensions and pathways of wellness - as a student it can be hard finding the time to prioritize wellness or knowing where to go to find support. The Wellness Den encourages students to engage with wellness and self-development focused resources to cultivate growth, take action, and thrive. Some aspects of wellness and self-development include:

  • Confidence
  • Mindfulness
  • Nature
  • Healthy Eating
  • Movement
  • Sleep

Drop-in Wednesdays between 10:00am-2:00pm to learn more and discover resources such as condoms, pregnancy tests, menstruation products and a healthy snack cupboard.

What is Wellness Coaching?

Wellness coaching is a conversation about the things you believe are important. It is an exploration of mindset, perspectives, values and priorities, and aims to help you move forward and toward wellness and self-development goals and/or actions you want to take. Wellness coaching can help you find clarity and confidence in who you are, relationships, making decisions, and goal attainment. Coaching can also be a journey in self-efficacy, boundaries, and holistic, personal care. Wellness coaching is based on the principal that individuals are resourceful and full, and can help people enhance the important areas of their lives. Coaching is not counselling, therapy or academic advising. Please visit the Campus Health and Wellness Centre if you require a physician, or are experiencing distress/crisis.

Students might want to talk with a wellness coach about:

  • prioritizing balance and wellness in their lives
  • self-development and personal growth
  • connecting to nature
  • making life, academic, career or relationship changes or decisions
  • identifying strengths, values, and limiting beliefs
  • finding solutions
  • motivation, time-management and getting started
  • interpersonal relationships struggles
  • stress management and coping strategies

Like most other Campus Health and Wellness Services (CHWC), wellness coaching is free for DC students. Students wishing to book a 1:1 wellness coaching appointment can:
