Join us to learn food literacy skills, such as nutrition, cooking, and meal planning. These skills are the foundation of lifelong habits of responsible and conscious eating, promoting better physical and mental health. Offerings include Munchie Mondays, and One Meal at a time. These sensory based mindfulness sessions, including crafts, games and forest bathing, were developed to enhance your well-being, improve health and increase sense of connectedness. Spending time in nature has been shown by research to: improve mood, sleep, confidence, self-esteem, cognitive functioning, and immune functioning increase patience, life satisfaction and motivation reduce symptoms associated with ADHD, anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, and addiction Offerings include Forest Bathing, Nature Play, Health Hikes and Mindful Farm Friday! Better Together Series Ontario Tech University and Durham College are partnering to run a regular workshop series to mediate social isolation and grief among students at both campuses. You’ll have opportunities to connect with other students through a series of creative workshops, grounded in identity, shared interest, meaningful relationships, involvement, and belongingness. The Better Together workshop series will employ action-based activities and integrate mental health education to foster social growth and resilience and promote the wellness of students on and off-campus.
