Self-service password reset The steps below will guide DC Students, Staff & Faculty through resting their network password through the Self-Service password reset portal. Note: Multi-factor authentication must have already been setup by the student before this can be used. If that hasn’t been done, please contact the IT Service desk at 905-721-3333 1. Go to the password reset portal here 2. To start the process, enter your dcmail.ca email address and the captcha characters, then click “Next”: 3. Select a contact method to verify your account: Provided you have registered your DC account for self-service password reset, the following options are currently available to verify your account: Option 1 – Email Verification To use email verification, select it as an option on the left and click “Email”: Go to your alternate email account and obtain the code that was sent: Enter the code in the Self-Service page and click “Next”: Enter your new password and confirm, click “Finish”: Your account password has been reset successfully: Option 2 – Text my mobile phone Select “Text my mobile phone” as an option on the left and enter your mobile device number you have registered and click “Text”: Obtain the code that was sent to your mobile device and enter it in and click “Next”: Enter your new password and confirm, click “Finish”: Your account password has been reset successfully: Option 3 – Call my mobile phone Select “Call my mobile phone” as an option on the left and enter your mobile device number you have registered and click “Call”: Microsoft will call your mobile phone and will ask you over the phone to verify who you are. When you have verified, the screen will proceed to the password reset screen, enter your new password and confirm the new password, then click “Finish”: Your account password has been reset successfully: Option 4 – Answer My Security Questions Select “Answer my security questions” as an option on the left, enter your responses to your pre-configured security questions, and click “Next”: Enter your new password and confirm then new password, then click “Finish”: Your account password has been reset successfully: Option 5 – Enter a code from my authenticator app Select “Enter a code from my authenticator app” as an option on the left and enter the code from the authenticator app and click “Next”: On your mobile phone, open the authenticator app and go to your dcmail account in the authenticator app to obtain the code. Enter the code that is generated in the SSPR screen: Enter your new password and confirm then new password, then click “Finish”: Your account password has been reset successfully:
