Meet Your Eating Disorders Psychotherapist MICHELLE PITMAN, MSW, RSW (SHE/HER) Book Appointment ABOUT MICHELLE Michelle is available for 1:1 counselling and psychotherapy to Durham College and Ontario Tech students with concerns or distress related to food, eating and body image. She joins the CHWC team with over 10 years of experience supporting individuals with disordered eating and related concerns, including working within an adult eating disorder program in a community hospital setting. Michelle’s approach: Is trauma-informed, client-centered and collaborative Utilizes various psychotherapeutic modalities including motivational interviewing, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) Integrates self-compassion, mindfulness and yoga philosophies to provide a holistic approach to supporting you with your health and wellness goals Michelle will also be launching programs and health promotion initiatives designed to encourage positive health and well-being among students as it relates to eating disorders, disordered eating and food literacy. Join Michelle Pitman, RSW, Eating Disorders Psychotherapist and Lori Brownson, RPN, Mental Health and Wellness Navigator in this support group, using the power of social connection to make mealtime less stressful and get through one meal at a time, together. Following the meal, Michelle and Lori will facilitate a brief discussion on relevant topics including coping and recovery-oriented skills building. NeuroNourish Register Here This 4 part workshop series offered to both Durham College and Ontario Tech University Students will explore with students the connection between ADHD and disordered eating behaviors, as well as support students with identifying strategies and techniques to support them on their journey.
