Using the Course Content Repository (CCR)

How to use the Course Content Repository as
a Repository Copier

Access the CCR, confirm that you are enrolled in the appropriate CCR course(s) and note the course information, e.g. 100001.00002-MM-00002 - CCR - CTLT-1000. You will need this in a later step.

Use the Sandbox Management Tool to make a new, empty sandbox.

Access the new sandbox and initiate the Copy Components process, searching for and selecting the CCR course noted above as the source to copy from. Be sure to Copy All Components.

Review the materials in your new sandbox, personalize and update them as appropriate, then copy this sandbox (in part or as a whole) to your course in the current (or upcoming) semester.

How to use the Course Content Repository as
an Editor

Access the CCR and confirm that you are enrolled in the appropriate CCR course(s). As an ‘Editor’, you can edit the Content and Activities just as you would your own CRN or Sandbox.

For the purpose of collaboration, you may wish to review the Classlist of the CCR and reach out to the other Editors.

Any edits that would historically be made within a shared sandbox or manually managed course can be made in the CCR to maximize consistency, and support shared improvements and high-quality courses for students.

REcommended Practice

  • Review and remove the Availability Dates & Conditions properties of the assignments or discussion forums and topics.
  • Access the activities and edit each of the items (Assignment, Discussion Forum or Topic) listed.
  • Expand the Availability Dates & Conditions pane
    • Click on the existing dates to display the mini calendar
    • Then click the Clear link at the bottom of the popup.

Note: Do this for the Due..., Start..., and End Dates.

Be sure to click the Save and Close button to complete the update.
