Quizzes The Quizzes help pages are structured into three categories: Essentials, Advanced, and Troubleshooting (see topics listed under Quizzes on the menu to the left). Essential topics are the fundamentals that an instructor needs to know and use to build a basic quiz. Advanced topics go into more depth and detail. Advanced topics assume familiarity and understanding of the essential topics. Troubleshooting...well, that category speaks for itself. Note Under essentials are two subcategories: questions and quizzes. That's because the Quizzes tool is two tools in one. It contains a Question Library, where you build and store questions that you can import into any quiz, survey, or self-assessment, and a Quizzes page where you build and administer your quizzes. What's New Last updated: August 15, 2025 Two new features are now available in the Quiz tool of DC Connect: Reopen a Quiz You can now reopen a quiz that has been submitted by a student (or automatically) so that it returns to the “In Progress” state. If you need to reopen a quiz, access the Quizzes tool, click the action menu for the appropriate quiz and select the Grade option, then the attempt that needs to be reopened, and then click the Reopen link found at the top listed attempts. If the end date remains in the future, the attempt is reopened immediately, and your student can pick up where they left off. If the end date has passed, you will be prompted to set a new end date for that student attempt. View Session IDs It is now possible to view what is called a “Session ID” in addition to the IP address used by a student to access DC connect when making a quiz attempt. The Session ID number indicates how many concurrent logins a user has active in DC Connect at any given time. If a student has multiple Session IDs active and logged during a quiz attempt, it suggests that multiple users may be logged in using a student’s credentials and are collaborating on the quiz attempt. To view this information, access the Quizzes tool, click the action menu for the appropriate quiz and select the Grade option, click on the appropriate student attempt, access the Event Log, and enable the “show session ID” and “show IP address” options. There should only be one session ID listed, and one IP address. Video playlist on how to create quizzes LAUNCH YOUTUBE The content on this page is used by permission from The University of Arizona.
