What-If Calculator

The What-If Calculator is a resource both students and faculty can use. Faculty can use the calculator to explore potential grade scenarios and determine minimum required performance for individual students to achieve a passing grade. When selected, the calculator will open in a new tab. There are two parts to the page: the Grade Details, and the calculator itself.

Grade Details

Displayed in table format, this section outlines the student's percentile grade earned to date, the total percentage of assessments that have been graded to date, the student's current course grade (i.e., "tudent's percentile grade earned to date" divided by "total percentage of assessments that have been graded to date"), and the maximum grade they can receive in the course based on the remaining assessments (if all remaining assessments were graded as 100%).

The Calculator

This part of the page has interactive components which enable the student (or faculty) to input possible grades on the remaining assessments in the course to determine how future assessments will impact their final course grade, based on each assessment's weight.
