Are there microwaves available to use if I bring my own lunch?

Yes, microwaves are located in the:

  • Marketplace Food Court
  • Simcoe cafeteria
  • Student Centre, second floor
  • UB cafeteria

Can I turn my meals into "Flex" dollars?

No, “Meals” and “Flex” are two separate components of the meal plan.

Meals
Meals are to be eaten in the South Village Residence Dining Hall.

Flex
Flex dollars are used to supplement your meals at the other food locations.

Does my flex dollar balance roll over into next year if I do not use it all?

Yes, on all voluntary meal plans your balance will roll over semester to semester, year to year until it is depleted.

Dollars may be added to your meal card at any time by visiting the ARAMARK website, www.durham-uoit.campusdish.com.

I am living off-campus, can I still purchase a meal plan?

Yes, Voluntary Meal Plans are available to students living off campus who choose to purchase their meals on campus. To purchase a meal plan:

  • Complete the Meal Plan form found on the ARAMARK Food Services website at www.durham-uoit.campusdish.com;and
  • Pay for your meal plan online using a credit card; or at ARAMARK Food Services office.

Is there a food bank on campus?

There is a food centre in the Outreach Centre which is supported by the Student Association, it is located in the Simcoe building, room 1048. They provide food and toiletries to help those in need. All requests are confidential and made through the co-ordinator. They also accept donations and are open to others running food drives on their behalf. Visit the centre to make arrangements.

May I bring a guest into the South Village Residence Dining Hall and pay for them?

Yes, all mandatory meal plans have guest passes included with their plan so family members can join you at the Fresh Food Company South Village Dining Hall at no cost.

Also available is a special half-price deal throughout Beat the Rush so family members of students without a meal plan can dine at a discount.

May I lend my card to a friend?

No, the owner of the card is the only person who can present the card for debiting a meal. However, you may use your card to purchase a meal for a friend using your “Flex” dollars.

What if I lose my card?

If you are a meal plan subscriber, it is imperative to report missing cards to the ARAMARK Food services office immediately so that your account can be deactivated. Please call 905.721.2000 ext. 2555. Bring your new Campus ID card to the ARAMARK Food Services office to update your account.

Where are the food service locations on campus?

Fresh Food Company – South Village Residence

All items are prepared right before your eyes, fresh daily, including:

  • An array of fresh vegetables from our Produce Market;
  • Baked pastas;
  • Deli sandwiches;
  • Grilled entrées;
  • Pizzas;
  • Premium desserts;
  • Rotisserie chicken; and
  • Stir-fry creations.

Non-meal plan users may eat here and use cash or debit.

Country Style Bistro Deli – Gordon Willey building, South Wing

Country Style Bistro Deli offers numerous lunch and beverage options with plenty of seating for you to sit down and enjoy your order. Offerings include:

  • Baguette sandwiches;
  • Entree salads;
  • Hot lunch entrees;
  • On The Go sandwiches and salads;
  • Smoothies;
  • Specialty desserts; and
  • Specialty drinks.

Starbucks – Library Café

The Library Café offers:

  • A gourmet bakery;
  • On The Go sandwiches and salads; and
  • Starbucks coffees, cappuccinos and lattes.

The Marketplace Food Court is the largest food court on campus and offers an array of dining options. Featured offerings include:

  • Miso;(made to order stir-fry); and
