Reimagining Our Learning Spaces As part of our commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, Durham College (DC) is developing comprehensive new standards for our future learning spaces. DC believes that our learning spaces should be fantastic places for students to learn, faculty to teach and community members to gather throughout the year. Offering flexibility and accessibility, they should also foster collaboration and innovative thinking. Through the Reimagining Our Learning Spaces project, DC is undertaking an extensive review of our current learning spaces. Consultations with students, employees and other community members was held throughout February using an online survey and campus community input sessions held at both the Oshawa and Whitby campuses and the Pickering Learning Site. DC is now reviewing the survey and event results and drawing on them to inform the development of our new classroom standards, which will guide the continual renewal of learning spaces and resources on campus. The final report, including the new classroom standards, will be announced and shared on this page in early April. Thanks to everyone who shared their ideas for what DC’s learning spaces should look like in the years ahead!
