HVAC Cooling Systems

This subject will develop the students understanding of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Theory of heat, matter and energy will be discussed. Basic refrigeration and air conditioning systems, tools, components and service methods will be explored. Students will gain an understanding of refrigerant safety, numbering systems, and properties of common refrigerants as well as refrigerant recovery, reclaim and recycling. Course of study will include, air conditioning and the building environment, environmental control systems, energy conservation, operating systems and system troubleshooting.
