This course will enable students to study the role of a courtroom clerk/registrar for family law cases in the Ontario Court of Justice, Superior Court of Justice and the Family Court. Students will learn courtroom decorum, conduct, and pre-, post- and in court responsibilities, in accordance with Ministry approved procedures, practices and guidelines. Students will be introduced to Family Law legislation and proceedings and learn the principles of case management, child protection timetables and their relationship to the Court's case tracking technology. Students will study First Appearance court (Rule 39 and 40).
