Students explore various pathways to individual and societal well-being, as they learn evidence-based strategies in the science of Positive Psychology. This holistic and strengths-based approach will provide students with skills to support leisure education, decrease actions of learned helplessness, and improve quality of life. Students examine evidence-based theories and models used for person-centered and strengths-based recreation programs. Students discover tools to improve mindset, increase self-awareness and self-understanding, cultivate flourishing relationships, practice self-care, and align life with values and purpose as it applies to recreation therapy practices.
