Diversity And Inclusion For First Responders
In Canada's multicultural society there are many diversity issues which often pose challenges for first responders. Navigating these issues requires professionalism, empathy and inclusivity. Students will delve into the topics of prejudice, racism, stereotype, personal bias, power and privilege, systemic barriers, oppression and shame, through the lens of a first responder. While engaging in critical examination, discussion and personal reflection, students are encouraged to arrive at an understanding of the human beings at the heart of these challenging issues.
