Ministry-approved title: Immigration Case Management
Canada has welcomed millions of newcomers in the past decade which has greatly increased demand for legal services and case management related to the immigration process.
The Immigration Case Management graduate certificate program will help students acquire specialized knowledge in the highly complex area of immigration, refugee and citizenship law as well as interpersonal and legal administrative support skills setting you up to excel in an in-demand field.
Graduating from one of only two immigration case management programs at a public college in Canada, students will be well-positioned to support legal practitioners, specifically immigrations lawyers and licensed immigration and citizenship consultants, in their practices or community service providers at non-government and community organizations supporting newcomers.

The Immigration Case Management graduate certificate program empowers students with specialized knowledge and skills required to support people engaged in the immigration, refugee and citizenship process.
Students develop hands-on skills in using Microsoft suite applications, Adobe, legal accounting software, and immigration case management/project management software.
Through the program, students develop the skills to accurately prepare and organize immigration application forms and related documents and manage multiple cases while honing your attention to detail and their ability to work under pressure.
A capstone course focuses on experiential learning including mock interviews and case-based role play simulating real-world scenarios that allow students to apply their knowledge and skills in managing cases.
Students in this program with a legal background acquire specialized knowledge of immigration, refugee and citizenship law and a formal credential in an in-demand field and create career progression opportunities.

An experiential learning opportunity is included in the capstone course. It will focus on mock interviews, case-based role play, virtual tours and workplace simulations. These experiences will provide students the opportunity to apply their knowledge in managing the operations and case files in immigration law/consulting firms, government, and non-government organizations.
